Much like design, the word “Tano” holds a nuanced meaning. In Japanese, Tano indicates emotion, admiration, and emphasis. In the figure skating world, it describes a daring variation that elevates the difficulty of a jump with the extension of one arm overhead. For us, Tano embodies all of these, symbolizing the powerful combination of emotive resonance and technical proficiency that characterizes great design.
Alex and Eric started their journey together as professional figure skaters. They were hired to act as Barbie and Ken for Disney On Ice, travelling the world together on a cruise ship for 4 years. Their experiences as professional athletes prepared Alex and Eric for Tano Studio in many ways – teaching them how to be effective creative partners while paying attention to every detail along the way. Today, they leverage their skills to help clients create their dream spaces, providing innovative and intentional design solutions that hold enduring value and meaning. -
